We did the wine pairing which was also a delight and I thought for most (but not all) really accentuated the accompanied dishes. The service was top notch and - even though we were the closest table to the bar - I think we would have had the same level of attentiveness for our adult beverage refills no matter where we sat. The 9 course menu was delicious from start to finish but some of the standouts included the Farm Egg (served in a perfectly cracked/open egg) Wild Chesapeake Rockfish, Whiffletree Beef. When we arrived at the intimate setting we found the menus customized with a special happy birthday note, which really made my sister's night (and consequently, my night). During the call in which they confirmed our reservation they asked a couple of questions - any food allergies and were we celebrating anything - the former because it's a fixed menu I assume in the latter to customize the experience for their guests. From start to finish the whole event and experience was classy and tasteful. I took my sister here a few weeks ago for her Birthday and we had a great time. I would recommend going to a nearby vineyard beforehand for a quick tasting. Definitely perfect for a date night! Super intimate. BUT overall, the food was great, location was awesome. Again, because of the concept and price, I do pay attention to these things. Also the timing between each dish took a while. more about each plate, there is a reason why the chef decided to make each dish with these specific local ingredients, more of this background would be nice). I didn’t give it 5 stars because for the concept, I would have hoped each dish was explained in a bit more detail (i.e. The butter at the beginning was amazing! The egg dish was so wonderfully creative. The food was tasty and I felt the dishes that came out after each one complimented each other well. You can also do the drink pairing which normally I would have done but opted out due to my wine tasting beforehand (at another nearby location). You pay for a fixed menu (which is always changing to adjust to the season). Especially at a place that serves locally sourced ingredients. When you eat there you will not be disappointed Also when the outdoor seating is open you can bring your dog and they can sit there with you. In my opinion it was one if the best pizzas we have had. The toppings were fresh and that did not skimp on them. The pizza came and the crust was light, had a great flavor and was baked just right. The salads were very nice and the greens were fresh and dry. The salad comes with raspberry vinaigrette. 2 small house salads(field greens, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, halved cherry tomatoes, and gorgonzola cheese. We got a 14" pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese, feta cheese, spinach, and mushrooms no sauce. We it took some time to figure out what we wanted. Our waitress/server was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about the menu. The guys working the open kitchen were professional & courteous. Also he and his wife gave me a gift card for there.įrom the start it was fantastic. It was recommended to us by my boss and fellow pizza lover. Book a reservation.you won't be disappointed!! Will be returning in the very near future. The prices are reasonable and the portions ample. At any rate, the food was soo good (and I was so hungry) I forgot to photograph anything but dessert. The bread basket arrived with the meal but I would have preferred it before. The salmon was perfect and the pasta was delicious. We ordered 2 entrees and had the kitchen separate them so we could both share the dishes. The wine list is fairly extensive with a varied selection. The menu is quite varied and includes vegetarian options. It was a bank many years ago and though remodeled for a restaurant they kept much of the original inside intact. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays which only accentuates the ambience. The host was pleasant and kindly checked my coat. However, as we were leaving, it was getting crowded so I would definitely recommend reservations for evening dinner. We arrived early, around 5, and did not need a reservation. Had a wonderful dinner there this evening.
